Aishe Sarshad
Group leader
Aishe is an Assistant Professor (Biträdande lektor) at the University of Gothenburg at the Institute of Biomedicine. Before this, she spent four years as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Markus Hafner (NIAMS, NIH) and received her PhD from the Karolinska Institute in 2014 with Piergiorgio Percipalle (CMB).
Vivian Lobo
Postdoc
Vivian received his PhD degree from ICMR - National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (University of Mumbai), in 2019. His doctoral work focused on sperm biology and to decipher the functional implications of Glucose Regulated Protein 78 (GRP78) in sperm motility. In the lab Vivian is investigating the link between Argonaute proteins and cancer.

Carola Fernandez
Postdoc
Carola Joined the lab in June 2020. She received her PhD degree in 2019 from the University of Montpellier in France. Her doctorate work was focused on the dynamics of transcription during the embryo development. Carola is spearheading a project aimed at understanding the role of Argonautes in stem cells.
Iwona Nowak
Postdoc
Iwona joined the lab in November 2020. She received her PhD degree from Jagiellonian University in 2020. Her doctorate work was focused on the MCPIP1 ribonuclease activity in cancer cells of neuroendocrine origin. In the lab Iwona is investigating the link between Argonaute proteins and cancer
Ulrika Alexandersson

Ulrika joined the lab in June 2020. Ulrika is licensed biomedical scientist (biomedicinsk analytiker; BMA) and has worked many years in hospital settings. In 2019, she gained a BSc in molecular biology from the University of Gothenburg.

Hsiang-Chi Huang (Elijah)
Postdoc
Elijah joined the lab in August 2021 and is a joint postdoc with the Angeletti Lab at GU. He received his Ph.D. degree in TIGP joined Yangming University in 2019. His doctorate work focused on the epigenetic suppression of immunosuppressive Siglec ligands in colon cancer. In the lab, Elijah will focus on deciphering the role between viral infection and RNA interference.
Ana Iris Correa Muler
PhD Student
Ana Iris joined the lab in December 2021 to pursue a doctoral degree in Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Ana Iris, received her master’s degree in sustainable energy from Reykjavik University and completed a postbac program from the NIH, USA. In the lab, Ana Iris will investigate the link between Argonaute proteins and cancer progression.
Hang Thuy Huynh
PhD Student
Hang joined the lab in January 2022. Hang received a Master's degree in 2021 from the University of Tsukuba in Japan. In the MAster's program, Hang focused on the role of Fibulin-4 in the maintenance of endothelial function and its relationship to thoracic aortic aneurysms. In the lab, Hang is investigating the function of AGO2-miRNA in stem cells.

Evgeniia Shcherbinina
Postdoc
Evgeniia joined the lab in August 2023 as a shared postdoc with AstraZeneca. She received her Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). Her doctorate work revolved around investigating the function of lncRNA LL35/Falcor in murine liver. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
